AMEE Spotlights

Five minute updates in plenary at the end of the Conference highlighting a few key messages in different topic areas;

Academic and Commercial Exhibition

Find out about what’s new on the market that could make your work a bit easier. Companies exhibiting typically include those such as simulation, publishing and online learning. A number of academic and not-for-profit organisations also regularly exhibit. If you’re interested in organising an exhibit, please see the Exhibitor Prospectus on the exhibition web page, or contact the AMEE Office (amee@dundee.ac.uk)

Simulation

There continues to be a growing interest in simulation as a powerful tool in medical education. This year in Glasgow we are offering a rich menu of experiences throughout the Conference on the topic of simulation, including preconference and conference workshops, symposia, short communication sessions and practical demonstrations in the Exhibit Hall. There will be an opportunity to hear about some of the cutting edge work in the UK and to visit simulation centres in Stirling and Dundee.

Hands-on CPR Training Opportunity

Following the success at the AMEE 2009 Conference in Malaga, we are again providing an opportunity for conference participants to book a 15 minute slot and experience one-to-one instruction on a CPR simulator in a non-threatening environment. This activity is being sponsored by Laerdal.

Mobile Clinical Skills Unit

The unit, which delivers state of the art, simulation-based education to remote and rural areas of Scotland, will be parked outside SECC during the Conference, to allow participants the opportunity to see at first hand this innovative approach to clinical skills training, and to try out some of the equipment.
