MedEdWorld and AMEE Launch new 'Follow' Feature
MedEdWorld and AMEE are delighted to announce the launch of a new feature on the MedEdWorld website, ‘Follow’.
The 'Follow' feature will enable MedEdWorld members and registered users to select the Keywords and Authors of interest to them and be alerted when related items are added to MedEdWorld.
Medical education is a growing field in which the quantity of new research and information is rapidly expanding. It is easy to feel overwhelmed by the quantity of information, and to miss important items of news or research. The new MedEdWorld ‘Follow’ feature enables members of the MedEdWorld Community to pre-select items of particular interest to them and these appear as a personalised news feed on the user’s ‘My MedEdWorld’ area on the MedEdWorld Homepage.
Items can be 'Followed' by Keyword and by Author:
Keywords can be selected in the ‘Follow’ tab in the ‘My Profile’ page on MedEdWorld. When items are posted or updated on the website that match the Keywords selected, the item will appear in the users dedicated ‘My MedEdWorld’ area on the MedEdWorld Homepage. The ‘My MedEdWorld’ area will contain up 20 of the most recently added or updated items that match the users preferences.
Members of the Community may decide to ‘Follow’ certain MedEdWorld Authors if they read articles they find interesting and would like to read more. Members and users can also search the MedEdWorld Community for Authors they would like to ‘Follow’.
In addition to receiving a personalised newsfeed in their ‘My MedEdWorld’ area on the MedEdWorld Homepage, members and users can opt to receive alerts by email. ‘Follow’ email alerts contain a list of the items matching either the Keywords or the Authors that a user has chosen to 'Follow' with hyperlinks to take the user directly to items of interest on the MedEdWorld website. Members and users who opt to receive email alerts can choose to receive alerts daily, weekly or fortnightly.

Remember AMEE membership includes MedEdWorld membership and AMEE members can activate their MedEdWorld account and make use of all MedEdWorld features and services by logging in with their AMEE username and password.
