The AMEE PhD/Doctoral Awards are designed to encourage and award investigators who have conducted high quality research in the area of health professions education. The winner of the award will be given free registration to the next AMEE conference, and the top three runners up will receive an AMEE Certificate of Merit. 

How to Apply

To apply for the award please submit a full thesis for review by a panel of judges. Successful submissions will be invited to present at an upcoming AMEE Conference. To submit your thesis, submit your abstract for the upcoming AMEE conference in the PhD/Doctoral Award category.

Award Criteria

All applications for the award will be judged against the following criteria:

  • A highly ranked PhD/Doctoral report abstract
  • A high quality full PhD thesis/Doctoral Report
  • A clear presentation at the AMEE Conference

    1st place - Dr. Neera Jain, University of Auckland, Faculty of Education and Social Work, New Zealand.

    2nd place - Rene Wong, The Wilson Centre for Research in Education, University of Toronto, Canada.

    3rd place - Professor Hiroshi Nishigori, Center for Medical Education, Nagoya University, Japan.
