AMEE Patient Safety and Healthcare Quality Improvement SIG: Opportunities

The AMEE Patient Safety SIG has embarked on three new initiatives.

  • Become a presenter or co-presenter for a Webinar or Podcast and share your knowledge expertise or emerging interests in Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Education
  • Become a presenting guest for an interactive workshop
  • Share your interest of experience in patient safety and quality improvement education by participating in a Pecha Kucha Event in early 2023.

A picture is worth 1,000 words. The AMEE Patient Safety and Healthcare Quality Improvement SIG will host Pecha Kucha activities beginning in January 2023.

    What is a Pecha Kucha?

A Pecha Kucha is a short visual presentation comprised of 20 slides. A Pecha-Kucha presentation format is an ideal way to deliver ideas in a less formal manner. Presenters are encouraged to talk from pictures but can also use slides with a mixture of text and image if this is preferred. However, each presenter will be limited to 20 slides and have 20 seconds to discuss each slide.

This is an opportunity for you to:

  • Share your thoughts and ideas with educators in our international community related to Patient Safety and Healthcare Quality Improvement
  • Showcase a new tool and technique
  • Share your take on a patient safety and quality improvement educational approach
  • Showcase a method you used to improve the teaching of patient safety and quality improvement in your setting.
  • Provide essential tips or lessons learned when teaching patient safety.
  • Highlight small or large initiatives in patient safety or healthcare quality improvement
  • Share a cultural or regional perspective that you would like to share regarding educating learners.
  • Offer a critique
  • Highlight a debate about how to teach patient safety and quality improvement.
